Global venture capitalists awarded Yoga
Yoga won the greatest innovator prize at a global entrepreneurship competition which was held at the recent HIT Barcelona World Innovation Summit.
Yoga took part of the competition in the category “cleantech” where business ideas were rated according to their sustainability and environmental effects. Yoga’s intelligent building management system was given an award for its innovative approach to automation and energy efficiency and was given the greatest innovator prize.
127 start ups and growing companies from all over the world took part in the competition and there were 10 finalists in the cleantech category. The best businesses were chosen by a jury of 37 members that included high profile venture capitalists and experts from companies such as Nokia, Siemens, IBM, Philips etc. Yoga CEO Priit Vimberg said that he was happy to get so much positive feedback and compliments at the event. “Hit Barcelona 2010 was a truly international venue with investors, start up entrepreneurs and technology experts from all over the globe. We met many people who were interested in our intelligent building system and these contacts are very useful for our future,“ said Vimberg. He added that the prize also encourages Yoga to step up its enlargement plans on the European, Indian and Arab markets. “We are currently in the middle of important negotiations with several potential investors and clients,” Vimberg mentioned.
